MNPD Street Racer Initiative results in three arrests and recovery of two firearms across Nashville

Three arrests follow late-night enforcement targeting street racing and “takeover” activity
Three men were arrested in separate incidents during a Metro Nashville Police Department Street Racer Initiative operation that began Saturday night and continued into early Sunday morning, police said. Officers reported recovering two firearms during the enforcement effort, part of an ongoing strategy aimed at curbing illegal racing and stunt driving on public roads.
The arrests were announced March 9, 2026. Police described the cases as independent events that unfolded in different areas of Davidson County and were handled by multiple units, including aviation support.
Bell Road pursuit leads to spike strips, crash, and firearm recovery
Police said Jason Linares, 18, was charged with drag racing, evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, theft, and driving on a revoked license after he was observed driving a white Infiniti with a black hood at more than 90 mph on Bell Road, where the posted speed limit is 40 mph. Officers said the Infiniti appeared to be racing a black sedan.
Police reported a helicopter tracked the Infiniti and that spike strips were deployed at Reynolds Road and Smith Springs Road. According to the department, the Infiniti ran a red light, left the roadway, and landed in a ditch. Linares and three passengers fled on foot through woods into an apartment complex, where they were detained.
- A pistol and a stolen tag were recovered from the vehicle, police said.
- An AR-15 was located in the woods, police said.
- Two passengers received misdemeanor state citations; a third passenger was released without charges, police said.
Police said Linares was released on a $50,000 bond.
Trousdale Lane incident includes alleged near-collision and hit-and-run crash
Police said Mondrikus Hamilton, 28, was charged with evading arrest, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and misdemeanor marijuana possession. Officers reported seeing Hamilton driving a two-door coupe without headlights on Trousdale Lane, swerving into oncoming traffic and nearly colliding with a police vehicle before fleeing at high speed.
Police said the vehicle struck another car on Trousdale Lane, after which Hamilton allegedly ran from the scene and was arrested at a nearby gas station. Police reported Hamilton was released on a $16,000 bond.
Traffic stop leads to arrest on outstanding aggravated assault warrant
Police said Michael Brice, 20, was taken into custody during a traffic stop based on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant. The warrant stemmed from a November 2024 case in which Brice is accused of pointing a gun at a juvenile female and pulling the trigger after an argument. Police said the firearm did not discharge and that Brice is also accused of striking the victim with the weapon.
Police said Brice was released on a $25,000 bond.
Enforcement summary and broader context
Police reported 17 traffic stops during the initiative, resulting in 10 warnings and two violations, with five drivers fleeing from officers. Two vehicles were towed and five misdemeanor citations were issued, police said.
The arrests come amid ongoing public safety messaging from the department about firearm theft and vehicle-related crime. In a separate March 10, 2026 release, police said most guns reported stolen in Nashville in 2026 had been taken from vehicles, and urged residents and visitors to lock vehicles, remove keys, and secure valuables—especially firearms.
