Arrest follows late-night holdup on Charlotte Pike

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an armed robbery at a Shell convenience market on Charlotte Pike, with police alleging the same suspect is responsible for three additional convenience-store holdups in Nashville earlier this month.

Investigators say the robbery occurred Sunday night, Feb. 22, 2026, shortly after 10:30 p.m. Police allege the suspect entered the store wearing a mask, displayed a pistol and threatened the clerk, demanding cash. The suspect then ran from the business to a sport utility vehicle parked nearby.

Police say surveillance was already in place

Detectives had identified the man as a potential suspect before the Charlotte Pike incident and were watching him as the robbery unfolded, police said. The monitoring included both ground units and aviation support.

Officers followed as the suspect left the area and later arrested him after he parked at another Shell market on Thompson Lane, police said. The suspect was identified as Abdalla Mohamed.

Charges filed and bond set

Mohamed is charged with four counts of aggravated robbery and one count of driving on a suspended license. A judicial commissioner set bond at $202,000.

Police allege Mohamed admitted during an interview that he committed the Sunday night armed robbery and others in February. The aggravated robbery charge in Tennessee is typically tied to the use or display of a deadly weapon or conduct that leads a victim to reasonably believe a deadly weapon is involved.

What is known, and what remains unclear

Authorities have not publicly released detailed timelines and locations for the other three robberies they attribute to Mohamed beyond describing them as convenience-market holdups occurring earlier in February. No injuries were reported in the public account of Sunday night’s incident, though police said the clerk was threatened.

Charging documents and court proceedings are expected to clarify key details, including whether prosecutors allege a single weapon was used across incidents, how investigators linked the suspect to multiple cases, and what evidence will be presented to support the serial-robbery allegation.
