Official Notice: Board of Zoning Appeals Convenes

The Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is scheduled to meet today, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Sonny West Conference Center at the Howard Office Building, located at 700 President Ronald Reagan Way. This regularly scheduled session will address various zoning appeals, including requests for variances and special exceptions to the Metro Zoning Code. Citizens interested in property development and land-use regulations are encouraged to attend. The agenda includes several items related to residential and commercial modifications within Davidson County.

Committee Updates: Contract and Compliance Board

The Contract and Compliance Board’s Complaint Subcommittee will hold a public meeting today from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This session is hosted at the Metro Office Building, 800 President Ronald Reagan Way, in the 1st Floor Development Services Conference Room. The subcommittee is tasked with reviewing compliance reports and addressing formal complaints related to municipal procurement and contract adherence. This meeting provides an opportunity for oversight regarding the city's financial and procurement operations.

Notice of Meeting Cancellations

Residents are advised that two previously scheduled municipal meetings for today have been officially cancelled. The Behavioral Health and Wellness Advisory Council meeting, originally set for this evening at the Lentz Public Health Center, will no longer take place. Additionally, the Stormwater Management Commission meeting, which was slated for this morning at 8:30 a.m., has been cancelled due to a lack of cases on the current docket. Residents who had planned to attend these sessions for public comment should monitor official department calendars for rescheduled dates.

Infrastructure Alert: Regional Road Maintenance

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) have issued alerts regarding active roadwork and lane closures throughout the Nashville region. For the period of February 4 through February 11, crews are performing essential repairs and new equipment installations. Motorists should anticipate possible daytime and nighttime lane closures on various secondary routes and primary highways across Davidson County. Furthermore, milling operations continue on Interstate 24 to address pavement degradation and potholes resulting from recent winter weather. Drivers are reminded to slow down and move over for maintenance crews in work zones.

Public Safety: Winter Weather Readiness

In light of recent meteorological trends, the Mayor’s Office and NDOT remind residents that city crews remain on standby for winter weather response. While primary and secondary routes have been pre-treated with brine solution where necessary, the department continues to monitor ice accumulation risks. The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure has transitioned salt trucks to active status to ensure a rapid response to any freezing precipitation. Citizens are encouraged to report significant roadway hazards or potholes through the hubNashville service portal or by calling 311.
