Official City and State Notices for Tuesday, February 24, 2026

The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in coordination with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), has issued several official notices and public service announcements active for today, Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Residents and commuters are encouraged to review the following schedules regarding legislative meetings and infrastructure repairs.

Metropolitan Government and Committee Meetings

Several local boards and committees are scheduled to convene today to discuss municipal finance and compliance. Public attendance is permitted in accordance with the Tennessee Open Meetings Act.

  • Equalization Board Meeting: The board will meet starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Howard Office Building, located at 700 President Ronald Reagan Way, to review property assessment appeals.
  • Investment Committee: A regularly scheduled session is set for 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This meeting includes a public comment period for items listed on the official agenda.
  • District 17 Community Meeting: Council members and residents will gather at 1121 3rd Avenue South from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to discuss local neighborhood developments.
  • Contract and Compliance Board: The full board will meet from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Howard Office Building. This will be preceded by the Complaint Subcommittee meeting from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Sonny West Conference Center.

Infrastructure and Roadway Advisories

Significant traffic disruptions are expected due to bridge inspections and ongoing road maintenance. TDOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time in these zones.

  • I-65 and Briley Parkway (SR 155): Routine bridge inspections will necessitate lane and ramp closures from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This includes the I-65 southbound ramp to Ellington Parkway (Exit 90A) and a one-hour full closure of the I-65 northbound ramp to Briley Parkway eastbound (Exit 90B).
  • I-24 Spot Repairs: Contracted crews will intermittently close westbound lanes on I-24 near mile marker 63 between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for pavement milling and paving following recent weather-related damage.
  • Major Bridge Projects: Intermittent partial closures continue on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for structural repairs. Additionally, Phase 2 of the Woodland Street Bridge repair project remains active.
  • Nolensville Pike Area: The continuous closure of Bradford Hills Drive remains in effect through April 2026.

State Health and Regulatory Board Hearings

In addition to local government activities, several state-level regulatory boards are conducting official business today within the Nashville metropolitan area:

  • The Tennessee Board of Communication Disorders and Sciences is scheduled for a regular meeting session.
  • The Tennessee Board of Nursing will conduct official hearings throughout the day regarding professional licensing and standards.

As a reminder to all residents, the Move Over Law is strictly enforced in all active work zones. Failure to move over for emergency vehicles or maintenance crews can result in fines of up to $500 and possible jail time.
