Mecum Auctions to Launch First Tennessee Collector-Car Sale With Four-Day Event at Nashville Superspeedway

First major Mecum collector-car auction in Tennessee set for Sept. 23–26 in Lebanon
Mecum Auctions will expand into Tennessee this fall with the inaugural Mecum Nashville auction, scheduled for Sept. 23–26 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon. The four-day sale will be the company’s first auction at the 1.33-mile venue and is expected to add a new, large-scale automotive event to the region’s calendar.
Event organizers project that approximately 1,200 collector cars will cross the auction block over the four days, with attendance expected in the thousands. While full programming details have not yet been released, the organizers have described a plan to use the speedway’s footprint beyond a traditional auction format.
Festival-style elements under discussion
Plans under development include interactive on-track experiences, expanded hospitality offerings and curated automotive displays. The stated goal is to build what organizers characterized as an immersive, destination-style weekend for collectors and enthusiasts.
The announcement positions the auction as part of a broader strategy to attract nationally recognized events to Middle Tennessee. Nashville Superspeedway has hosted a growing mix of motorsports and automotive gatherings alongside its NASCAR and INDYCAR weekends, and the Mecum sale would add a major auction component to that mix.
Charitable component: Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee
Organizers said the inaugural event will include a significant contribution benefiting Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee, supporting the nonprofit’s mission of granting wishes for children facing critical illnesses. Additional details on how the contribution will be structured have not been released.
How bidding will work and what’s still unknown
The auction is expected to offer both in-person and remote participation, with bidding available through telephone and online platforms. Ticketing, consignment opportunities and the final schedule of activities at the speedway remain pending, with organizers indicating more information will be announced closer to the event.

Context: a national auction company adding a new regional stop
Mecum Auctions, founded in 1988, operates a nationwide calendar focused on collector cars, vintage motorcycles and automobilia. The company is best known for large multi-day events, including its January auction in Kissimmee, Florida, and a major spring sale in Indianapolis.
Organizers framed the Nashville auction as a new destination on the company’s national schedule, with the speedway’s size cited as a factor in accommodating a multi-day, high-volume sale.
For Middle Tennessee, the event adds another large visitor draw to late September. The economic impact estimates referenced by organizers were not accompanied by published figures, and local spending effects will depend on final attendance, length of stay and the mix of public-facing programming ultimately confirmed.
