Interstate and Major Artery Updates

Commuters traveling through the northern corridor of Nashville should prepare for nighttime delays on I-65. Construction activities are scheduled between mile markers 95 and 99, near the Rivergate Parkway area. Lane closures in both directions will be in effect during the late evening and overnight hours, though TDOT officials confirm that at least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Additionally, regional travelers heading toward East Tennessee should be aware of a single inside lane closure on I-75 North starting Saturday at 7:00 PM to facilitate ongoing maintenance.

WeGo Public Transit Service Alerts

Public transit riders using the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center (WeGo Central) will face several detours this Saturday. Due to local roadway conditions and infrastructure work, multiple routes departing from downtown are being rerouted via Deaderick Street and 6th Avenue. These detours are currently listed as "until further notice" and affect the following services:

  • Route 18 (Airport): Stops between Central 5th Ave Bay 4 and 6th Ave N & Church St will not be served.
  • Route 86 (Smyrna-La Vergne) & Route 87 (Gallatin): Expect missed stops along 5th Ave and Union Street.
  • Routes 89 (Springfield) & 94 (Clarksville): These routes are detouring from 4th Ave Bays 23 and 20, bypassing Union Street and 7th Ave North.

Riders are encouraged to check the WeGo app for real-time bus tracking as these detours may cause slight timing fluctuations in arrivals and departures.

Local Roadworks and Closures

In Davidson County, long-term construction continues to impact local traffic patterns. Bradford Hills Drive remains under a continuous full closure and is not expected to reopen until April 2026. Motorists in the north Nashville and Goodlettsville area should also watch for daily lane closures on SR 174 (Long Hollow Pike) due to essential bridge work. Flagging crews may be present during daylight hours, so expect intermittent stoppages.

Commuter Safety and Weather Conditions

Following recent winter weather events, TDOT crews are actively engaged in a statewide pothole repair initiative. Motorists should be prepared for mobile work zones and short-term traffic shifts on interstates and state routes as crews use cold-mix asphalt to stabilize damaged pavement. With rain expected to move into the region this Saturday, roads may become slick, especially in areas with fresh patches or lingering debris. Drivers are advised to reduce speeds, increase following distances, and move over for maintenance vehicles and first responders working along the shoulders.
