Following the significant weather events of late January, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County continues to provide essential services and public safety updates. Residents are encouraged to review the following official notices regarding legislative meetings, infrastructure repairs, and health safety advisories active for Monday, February 9, 2026.

Metropolitan Council Caucus Meetings

Two key caucus meetings are scheduled for today, Monday, February 9, providing opportunities for community engagement and legislative planning:

  • Women’s Caucus Meeting: Scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Historic Metro Courthouse. The caucus will discuss upcoming legislative priorities and community initiatives.
  • Minority Caucus Meeting: Scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This meeting will be held off-site at the Pan-Asia Supermarket to facilitate community accessibility and discussion on local representation.

Winter Storm Fern: Recovery and Debris Collection

In the wake of Winter Storm Fern and the subsequent State of Emergency declared under Executive Order 56, the Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) and Metro Water Services are continuing recovery efforts. Public service announcements include:

  • Debris Collection: Dedicated crews are currently conducting a second assessment of hard-hit areas. Curbside vegetation and storm debris collection is expected to continue for the next two to three weeks. Residents are asked to keep debris clear of sidewalks and bike lanes.
  • Emergency Pothole Repairs: NDOT has deployed multiple crews to address emergency potholes formed by recent freezing temperatures and heavy precipitation. Motorists are advised to exercise caution as repairs are conducted county-wide.
  • Generator Safety Advisory: The Tennessee Department of Health continues to warn residents against the improper use of portable backup generators. Generators must never be used inside a home or garage. They should be placed outdoors, at least 20 feet away from windows, doors, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
